Karl and his right hand lady, Cathy, set off on an adventure and created a truly special small business driven by integrity and customer satisfaction. From the days of wearing multiple hats and running around like a chickens with their heads cut off, Karl and Cathy always managed to deliver higher than expected customer satisfaction, creating a buzz about this little flooring store on Hyde Park Rd.
Karl was extremely lucky to know some great installers. Steve, Dan, Brian and crew have been with us for years if not from the beginning and they have created such high standards for all of our installers. Their work is beautiful and we are so lucky to have them on our team.
After a year or so of opening, Karl and Cathy hired Lena as a sales person. Lena brought her charm, organization, dedication and eagerness to learn to the table and our customers love her for it. Lena now leads the charge with our new builder division, ensuring that our builder’s clients are well taken care of throughout the selection process right through to completing the installation. But don’t worry, she’s still in the showroom to help or say hello when needed.
In January 2018, we moved our warehouse offsite to transform our 750sf to a 3000sf showroom. Up to this point, we just had a small showroom and a tiny 10x10ft office to operate out of. We are so proud of our new showroom. It’s so nice to come in to work everyday.
About two years after Lena’s arrival, Karl was getting so busy with measures, deliveries and day to day operations that they hired Dennis to organize and manage our warehouse, pickups and deliveries. Dennis was a hard worker and helped shape our warehouse but unfortunately he has recently taken another job. Congrats on your new job Dennis! You are missed.
As the business grew, more and more builders and developers started hearing about our craftsmanship and customer service so Karl hired Joe to manage all of our builder clients. Joe had been a tile installer for 15 years and brought a ton of experience with working with builders to the table. Joe and Lena are now working together with our builders and our new builder program.
It was soon after Joe arrived that Karl decided to re-brand the business. Karl is very proud that we offer high quality products and amazing installations and wanted our customers to have a luxury flooring experience. From the moment you call us or come into our showroom, our staff will help guide you through a simple carpet replacement to helping you design and select flooring and and wall tiles for your entire new build home. We pride ourselves in knowing the current and classical trends and being able to advise you on the correct colour pallets for your project.
Karl Moore Flooring has evolved into Moore Flooring + Design.
With foot traffic continuing to increase, Karl and Cathy hired Barry to join our sales team. Barry brings a lot of customer service experience to the table but also brought marketing, media and online expertise that the business was missing. He has increased our online presence and built almost 1000 pages on our new website so our customers can learn about our products and shop online.
With Lena leaving the sales floor, we hired Nelia to try and fill her shoes (no pressure Nelia). Nelia had run her own home business for 20 years and was looking for a change of career when she came in for an interview. Karl and Cathy loved her personality and customer service background so we welcomed her to the team. There is so much to learn about flooring and Nelia is doing wonderfully.
After the departure of our warehouse associate, Dennis, we have welcomed Josh to manage our warehouse operations. Josh has some great warehouse experience and is working hard to improve our daily operations.
In six short years, our family run business in the little white house on Hyde Park Rd., has grown into a staple of luxury flooring in London.
Finally, and most importantly, thank you to our loyal customers! We absolutely could not have done any of this without you!
